Description

The action of Allopurinol differs from that of uricosuric agents, which lower the serum uric acid level by increasing urinary excretion of uric acid.
Allopurinol reduces both the serum and urinary uric acid levels by inhibiting the formation of uric acid.

Indication
Acute Gout , Chronic Gout , Tophi , Joint Destruction , Uric acid lithiasis , Nephropathy

Dosage
 Adult : For Mild gout - 200 to 300mg/day
For moderately severe  tophaceous gout , 400-600mg/day (or ) dosage directed by the physician
