Ciprofloxacin is a member of the fluoroquinolone class of antibacterial agents

The bactericidal action of ciprofloxacin results from inhibition of the enzymes topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV (both Type II topoisomerases), which are required for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination.

Indicated in the Urinary Tract Infections , Lower Respiratory Tract Infections , Nosocomial Pneumonia , Skin And Skin Structure Infections , Bone And Joint Infections , Complicated Intra-Abdominal Infections

Recommended dosage is 200mg to 400mg every 8 to 12 hours 7 to 14 days or dosage directed by the physician
