Atorvastatin is 2nd generation HMG CO-A Reductase inhibitor and it reduce total cholesterol ,  LDL cholesterol ,  triglyceride and increase HDL cholesterol

Action

It prevents the production of cholesterol in the liver by blocking HMG-CoA reductase

 Indication
Elevated total cholesterol, LDL, triglycerides and to elevate HDL
Prevention of angina, stroke, heart attack
To reduce the risk of myocardial infarction
Prevention of heart attacks and strokes in patients with type 2 diabetes

Dosage
Once daily convenient dosage or dosage directed by the physician
