This medicine is prescription only medicine (POM ) and it is required under medical supervision .

Description

Cimetidine is a drug that blocks the production of acid by acid-producing cells in the stomach and can be administered orally, IM or IV.
It belongs to a class of drugs called H2 (histamine-2) blockers.

Indications
    To relieve heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach
    To prevent heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach brought on by eating ordrinking certain foods and beverages

Dosage
Adults and children 12 years and older:
    to relieve symptoms, swallow 1 tablet with a glass of water
    to prevent symptoms, swallow 1 tablet with a glass of water right before or any time up to 30 minutes before eating food or drinking beverages that cause heartburn
    do not take more than 2 tablets in 24 hours
Cchildren under 12 years: dosage directed by the physician
